Dear lovely readers,
today my post is not going to talk about fashion or beauty, but I’m going to share with you a short review and tips of my recent favorite item…
I haven’t talked about it yet, because I haven’t really had it for a long time. So, as a birthday gift from my parents this year I got a POLAROID camera yayyyyyyyy. I was so happy to get it, because it has been on my wish list for over four years.
I used to like the white one,but when I went to the store to buy it I saw the black one and loved it. I ended up getting the black one, because it’s matte and that makes it look so simple and cute. To start this Polaroid experience off, obviously, I had to get my first pack of film in the store so I could start snapping pictures right away.
Now that I’ve told you a little bit about getting my Polaroid camera I’m going to share a few tips …
TIP 1: INSERTING THE FILM
To film has to be inserted into the panel,on the back of the Polaroid camera.
Don’t open the panel unless your cartridge is empty!
When you open your film and you take it out of it’s package you’ll see a yellow indicator, that’s how you should apply in into the panel behind your camera, the yellow sticker should lign up. Close the panel back and you’re ready to take your first picture.
Your first picture (every time you change the film) will be a protective film so you don’t have to worry where it’s pointed, because it’s black with nothing on.
The Polaroid is really simple to use; it doesn’t take a professional photographer to take a picture. You only have to open it, by pressing the button on the front and wait for it to “load”. The camera is ready to take a picture when the red light stops blinking in the view finder.
To check how many pictures you have left you should look on the back of your camera, on the right side, there’ s a little circle with a number inside. When there’s still the protective film inside it’ll say S, otherwise it’ll just say the number of pictures you have left.
Now onto taking the actual picture…
TIP 2: BEFORE TAKING THE PICTURE
Before you take the picture make sure to check that you’re on the exposure mode that the camera’s exposure dial recommends. The camera has a sensor that tells you which mode is better and it’s highly recommended to use that, because the picture will turn out better. You can manually change it, by slighting it.
TIP 3:
The view finder is not exact, because the lens is more to the left and down, so I would recommend to slightly turn the camera to the right and tilt it up.
TIP 4: TAKING THE PICTURE
– If you’re taking a selfie all you have to do it line up the lens with your nose and snap the picture.
– If you’re going to take a close up picture it may be a little blurry, because the camera has autofocus, but close-ups end up looking a little blurry.
– You don’t have to shake the picture, it’ll develop by itself and it takes around a 2-8 minutes to fully develop.
– It’s recommended to take the picture or at least let it develop at room temperature, because temperature affects the photo.
These are all the things that I wanted to say and share with you. I hope these tips were helpful and you’ll have fun taking your future Polaroid pictures. Thanks for reading!
Do you own a Polaroid camera or do you have it on your wish-list?

Awesome! I want one and can’t decide between black or white. How does the black one hold up? As far as the color goes.

I’m absolutely in love with the Fuji Instapix Polaroid camera! It’s so cute and compact and comes in the best colours. I’ve wanted it for a while and I’m hoping my parents will get the hint sooner than later! I’ve already scoped it all out for them – Henry’s even currently has them on sale if anyone’s interested: http://www.henrys.com/Brands/FUJI.aspx !
I’m hoping Black Friday comes sooner this year so I can begin snapping away! Also, more importantly, great tip on aligning the lens with your nose when taking a selfie. Can’t wait to snap some myself! Do you have any recommendations when taking a polaroid picture indoor vs outdoor? Which do you find turn out best?

I’ve loved this camera for so long and it was amazing to finally own one! I hope you’ll get one soon, I’m sure you’re going to love it. About the indoor/outdoor it all depends on lighthing. If you’re taking a picture outside and it’s super sunny you’ll choose that “filter”, but it will still turn our pretty white, still if you’re taking a picture outside when it’s almost night it will turn darker than you see it. Don’t take pictures in front of mirrors or windows because you’ll have a spot on where the flash of the camera is. I hope this was somehow helpful. If you have any other questions don’t hesitate to ask me, you can contact me on my ABOUT page 🙂 ♥

I just bought a DSLR which cost a pretty penny, so I will wait for now. Maybe I’ll buy one for my sister whose bday is coming up…then borrow it and never give it back! Hahahahaha!

I just got one for my birthday, and I’m totally in love! It really makes you think about what you are wanting to take a picture of, which I feel like is something that is totally lost when you are using an iphone with its’ limitless number of takes. There is something so beautiful and candid about it.
